A pair of naked news readers who appeared in The University of Cambridge's online television channel has raised eyebrows among dons.

The programme made its inaugural broadcast on Cambridge University TV last Wednesday.

The three-minute Naked News, which is expected to be broadcast weekly.

It was hosted by Seb Dunnett, 20, and a 21-year-old blonde woman, who goes by the name of Jane Doe, Daily Mail reported.

The video showed the pair of Natural Sciences students cycling around in their traditional black gowns.

They then stripped the gowns off in front of the clock at the Corpus Christi College of Cambridge, the world's second best university.

Dunnett was just wearing a pair of wire-framed glasses and his female co-presenter preserved her modesty with blue CU:TV stickers to cover her nipples while the frontal shots were covered by computer-generated pixels.

After an opening sequence taking in the city of Cambridge's landmarks, the pair sat behind a desk and read the headlines on topics ranging from Varsity rugby to celebrity gossip.

In the broadcast, they signed off with the slogan: "We've been the Naked News giving you the naked truth."
